AGZ's ESG Commitment and Sustainable Development Strategy

Since its inception, AGZ has prioritized solving China’s oil slurry deconsolidation challenge and addressing the environmental pollution caused by oil slurry. With a catalytic cracking capacity of 300 million tons, China leads the world, producing approximately 15 million tons of catalytic oil slurry annually. This slurry contains 3,000 ppm of catalyst powder—equating to 3 kg of catalyst powder per ton of oil slurry. Due to the lack of effective deconsolidation technologies for FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) slurry, a significant portion of untreated slurry is used as low-cost heavy fuel oil, contributing to severe pollution. Nearly half of the fine powder particles are less than 2.5 microns (PM2.5), a major concern for air quality, as even burning one ton of slurry can pollute hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of air, exceeding acceptable PM2.5 limits. In contrast, as early as the 1970s, Europe and the U.S. set strict fuel oil solid content limits at under 120 ppm. The burning of untreated oil slurry results in more pollution than the combustion of hundreds of millions of tons of gasoline and diesel combined.

AGZ, in collaboration with LaBaer (USA), developed the DiSep® electroseparation technology, specifically designed to tackle the challenges of oil slurry deconsolidation in China. The technology boasts a 99% removal efficiency, with the solid content of purified oil reduced to less than 50 ppm. Key advantages of the DiSep® technology industrial unit include:

· Safe, stable, and efficient operation: Comprehensive operating costs are low.

· First-class industrial design: Compact, modular skid-mounted units capable of processing 10,000 to 150,000 tons per year with fully automated operations and online maintenance.

· Flexible backwash options: The system can utilize various backwash materials, such as catalytic cracking feed, refinery oil, oil slurry, and wax oil. The separation packing can be fully reset and regenerated.

· Green and environmentally friendly: The process involves a zero-emission physical separation, with no waste gas, liquid, or residue generated.

The oil slurry processing system has low power consumption, zero emissions, and a service life of over 20 years. By employing DiSep® technology, not only is the PM2.5 pollution caused by oil slurry combustion eliminated, but the clarified slurry also becomes a valuable chemical raw material. This allows the development of high-value-added downstream applications, generating economic benefits and extending the oil slurry industry chain.

After deconsolidation with DiSep® technology, the oil slurry can be used to produce special carbon materials such as carbon black, needle coke, and carbon fiber. The CO2 emissions generated from burning oil slurry as fuel can be converted into solid carbon products, reducing carbon emissions by over 50%. This aligns with China's "double carbon" goal of peaking carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, while also reducing the need for fuel oil production. DiSep® technology thus plays a critical role in reducing social carbon emissions.

AGZ adheres to a strong sense of social responsibility, embracing a mission to serve the country through industry while safeguarding the environment. The company has built a green, low-carbon, and innovative high-tech business, establishing a R&D center in China and developing a technical engineering service team. AGZ collaborates with leading scientific research institutes through industry-university partnerships, opening new avenues for environmental governance. This encourages industry professionals to contribute to both technological advancements and environmental protection. In the field of oil slurry deconsolidation, AGZ has achieved several industry-first breakthroughs:

· 100% market share in China's oil slurry electric separation industry.

· The world’s first commercial device using oil slurry feed backwash and high-efficiency oil slurry deconsolidation.

· China’s first industrial unit for processing oil slurry and blending marine heavy fuel oil.

· The world’s first experimental demonstration instrument using DiSep® electroseparation to transform “black oil” into “clear oil.”

· The industry's first technology package for online semi-real-time detection of oil slurry solid content (ash), residual catalyst powder, and silicon-aluminum content.

· The world's first skid-mounted 2-module DiSep® technology system for in-line/lateral deconsolidation of FCC slurry.

· First in China to purchase 1,000 tons of clarified oil slurry post-deconsolidation, using it as raw material for carbon black production and industrial testing.

Through technological innovation and market transformation, AGZ is reshaping the domestic oil slurry processing and application industry. The company is transitioning from inefficient, polluting, high-cost, and low-end consumption models to an efficient, low-cost, green, low-carbon, and high-value-added approach. AGZ has become a leader in ESG practices and a model for sustainable development.
