Needle coke raw material treatment
From 2019 to 2022, AGZ supported a local coke plant in Shandong Province to install a DiSep® electric separation system with a total capacity of 350,000 tons/year by desolidating oil slurry and using it as a raw material for the manufacture of needle coke. To produce high-end needle coke for ultra-high-power/high-power graphite electrodes, the slurry must have a solid/metal content of less than 50 ppm. The slurry in the needle coke plant comes from other refineries and distributors, and the mixing of slurries from different channels brings complexity and harsh working conditions. With rich experience in slurry treatment, combined with the responsiveness, adaptability, selectivity and stability of the DiSep® electroseparation system, the AGZ engineering team has established an effective and flexible process operation window, successfully handled the source changes and characteristic fluctuations of the slurry, and obtained excellent filtration results, meeting the high-quality raw material standards of the needle coke plant.
